Travel Grants

We're awarding Travel Grants to support members of the European Association for Cancer Research who need financial assistance to attend the Congress and present their work as an oral or poster presentation. Each EACR Travel Grant includes a free registration and funds to support travel and accommodation costs. 

We have two eligibility categories:

• Student and Early Career EACR members with less than 4-years postdoctoral experience
• EACR members who are based in a country with a low- or middle-income economy

There is no maximum amount you can apply for, but we expect applicants to choose the best value travel and accommodation possible, and we cannot guarantee that we will always be able to cover the full amount that applicants have applied for.

Eligibility

• You are a current EACR member. Find out more. The EACR aims to be inclusive: we may be able to offer reduced membership fees for researchers from low/lower middle-income economies (as defined by the World Bank) or who have extenuating circumstances. To ask about this please contact our membership team.
• Travel Grants are targeted at members who, without additional funding, would not be able to attend the congress. Please consider your financial need before applying and demonstrate it in your application.
• Applicants must have submitted an abstract for the Congress on the Congress website.

You must also meet one of the criteria below:

• Student and Early Career EACR members with less than four years postdoctoral experience. Exceptions may be made in the case of members who have had a professional break, such as illness or parental leave.
• EACR members who are based in a country with a low- or middle-income economy, as defined by the World Bank. Click here and scroll down to the bottom of the page to see the current list on the World Bank website.

How to apply 

Eligible EACR members can apply quickly and easily online through our Travel Grants application portal.

1. Make sure you submit an abstract for the Congress before 23:59 CET on 04 March. 
2. Click here to log in to your EACR member account: this will open in a new browser tab. If you don't remember your password, click 'Forgotten your password?' at the bottom of the page to reset it.
3. After logging in, come back to this page and click here to access the Travel Grants application portal. Only members who meet the above eligiblity criteria will be able to access the portal. If you can't access the portal but you believe you are eligible, please contact our membership team.
4. Complete each section of the online form and upload your supervisor's letter of support.
5. After clicking 'Save and submit' you will be able to view and edit your application using this link at any time until the deadline of 04 March.
